  • Nails, though a small part of your body shows a lot about your health. We generally use them for picking things, scratching and of course biting while a cricket match is going on but these things make our nails worst. Hence you should know how to keep your nails healthy. Healthy nails are often a sign of good health overall. There are certain things that you must follow to keep your nails healthy and certain things that you should not at all do for keeping them healthy.

    There are certain important things that must be followed to take care of your nails so first lets go through some DO’s to keep your nails healthy.

    -->DO’s:

    Keeping your nails moisturized is the most important part of nail care. Keeping your nails healthy will involve moisturizing them hence keep a moisturizer handy. Massaging your nails will not only keep them healthy but also improve blood circulation. There are many nail oils available in the market choose the one that suits you. Vitamin E will be common to all since they even moisturize your nails.

    Polishing your nails will actually protect your nails. If you don’t wear colors you can apply a colorless coat. But leave the nails without nail polish for some days at least after every 2-3 weeks. Eat balanced diet, and for nails eggs and milk are the best. Also if your nails are brittle have more of vitamin D, it will keep your nails healthy.

    Washing your hands regularly is your responsibility towards yourself since this will not only keep them clean but also stop bacteria from going into your stomach through hands. Apart from washing filing your nails at regular intervals is recommended strongly, only in one direction back or forth and not both.

    Certain actions should never be done to your nail since it will harm them badly. To avoid any harm follow the DONT’S given below.

    DON’TS:

    Nervous about an interview or a cricket match and hence biting your nails. Bad habit I would say, because it will damage your nails very badly and can also give way to bacteria.

    Avoid picking up things with your nails. though you might not be feeling the pain but it is actually making your nails weak and brittle.

    Push your cuticles but DON’T cut them. Soaking your nails in warm water will soften the cuticles. If you take cold water and lemon juice the nails will become strong and clean.

    While washing clothes, utensils etc. the chemicals present in the detergents can harm your nails. Hence to keep your nails healthy, gloves are a must. they can be used while washing clothes as well as utensils.
